Camping & MOTORHOMES

If you’re travelling in a motorhome or campervan and plan to stay overnight, please ensure that you book the campsite or have a private arrangement before visiting Gigha. A private arrangement, for example, means that you are parking on a friend’s drive. There are no other overnight parking places on the island.

Check out Gigha's Camp and Motorhome Site. The site has fantastic facilities, access to path routes, is close to the beach and is only a hop away from the Activity Centre. If the campsite is full, or your motorhome is longer than 7m long, you may wish to consider staying at Ferry Farm Aire, just at the ferry slip in Tayinloan – 01583 441 141

You cannot park overnight elsewhere on Gigha, including on the public road, verges, passing places, roadsides, off-road areas and beach access points. This helps keep Gigha safe, accessible and welcoming for everyone, while protecting the island’s wildlife and farmland.

If you would like to wild camp, this type of camping does not include a vehicle (including campervans, motorhomes, roof tents, or sleeping in a vehicle). Wild camping is lightweight, done in small numbers, and only for two or three nights in any one place. Please be respectful towards our community, and do not camp in fields, including those containing crops or farm animals, keep well away from buildings, roads, or historic structures. Please leave no trace, remove all remnants, do not light fires unless using a raised stove, and use the public toilets available.

Please note, caravans are not permitted on Gigha.
